While researching throughout the semester we hope to open doors to new insights. Our main priority is to to find how and if the socialization of parenting throughout the United States has come to affect the socialization of discipline towards children in relation to gender. We hope our research will not only help us see how anthropoligists work, but to help others see how important anthropologists are to researching topics that are vital to observing how we function as a society.

Wow, loved that gender roles video! Interviews with kids are great. My 10 year old son went trick-or-treating with his female friend last night, and she borrowed a "werewolf" costume from us. Her mom would not buy her a costume because she said,"We have perfectly good costumes already. We have Snow White and Sleeping Beauty!" His friend said that she would rather NOT go, than wear those dumb (gender stereotyped) costumes... She's lucky that my son is being raised by lesbians! haha (anna l.)
